While your there visit Spinneys Restaurant located directly on the beach or glance back into history with a walk through Fort Popham used in the Revolutionary War to defend a young nation.
Reid State Park, Georgetown, Maine If rocky shores and shady beaches are more your style you might want to go north one peninsula to Georgetowns Reid State Park (pictured below, right). Owls Head Transportation Museum, Owls Head, Maine - Go back in time and visit this museum to take a look at a whole variety of historic automobiles, carriages, bicycles, motorcycles and engines such as W.W.II vintage Stearman military training biplanes, a classic Mercedes, or a W.W.II P-51. The Joshua L. Chamberlain Museum, Brunswick, Maine- This Museum commemorates this hero of Gettysburgs Battle of Little Round Top. Later this war veteran went on to become Governor of Maine and President of Bowdoin College.
