Maine State Aquarium

Located on the water in beautiful West Boothbay Harbor, Maine, the aquarium is operated by the Maine Department of Marine Resources.

It can be a bit tricky to find at first, please print the directions below before you go!

Directions: Take left out of Meadowbrook. Take left out of Meadowbrook; follow Campbells Pond Road back to Rt. 209; Take left onto Rt 209 North; about 1/2 mile on Right you’ll see Webber Avenue, take right; this turns into Washington Street. Follow Washington Street until first stop light. Take left to get onto Sagadahoc Bridge. You are now on Route 1 North.

Take Route 1 North, through Wiscasset to Edgecomb. Turn right onto Route 27 South, to the Boothbay Harbor Region.

Once on Route 27: Travel to Boothbay Center (about 9 miles). Landmarks on right are Chamber of Commerce and Texaco Gas Station/Subway Sandwich Shop. After Texaco Station and just before Soldier Monument, turn right off Route 27. Go straight at the 4-way stop that immediately follows. This puts you on Corey Lane, also known as Lakeside Drive. Follow this road to the stop sign at its southern end (about 2 miles; 2nd junction with Route 27). Continue straight across onto McKown Point Road and follow to its end (about 1 mile). We are the last facility, at the end of the road
